The third day was a comeback day for Pakistan as the Asian side took their overnight score of 194/6 to 264 after fightable knocks from Mohammad Rizwan and an unbeaten 33 from the 27-year old Aamer Jamal made sure that they don’t suffer another embarrassing defeat. Australia succummed under immense pressure being laid on by sheer and excellent pace attack of Pakistan as they made a torrid start to their second innings by being four down for merely 16 runs within 5.2 overs. Usman Khawaja and Travis Head departed without even contributing anything in the scoreboard as Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mir Hamza were breathing fire with their bowling. However, the legendary Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh came to the rescue as their 153 run stand steadied Australia’s batting. Mitchell Marsh continued his impressive run of form in this Test series as he scored 96 off 130 balls. This was his third fifty of the series as he once again missed out on a century by being dismissed in the ‘Nervous 90’s’ for second time this series. Australia will walk into the Day 4 with a lead of 241 runs.
